CloudFormatter |
||||
CloudFormatter is a complete installation of RenderX XEP in the Cloud. A small client-side application is used to bundle and send your document to RenderX's Cloud which returns PDF. Now our users can leverage the best formatting solution for their documents while eliminating the complexity in installation, integration, and setup. Simple client-side code can accept XML+XSL or XSL-FO. The client-side application can bundle all images referenced in the document and sends to a remote formatter via a web message, returning resulting PDF directly to your application. RenderX's CloudFormatter is the ideal solution for on-demand formatting of documents to PDF. |

Our Cloudformatter is a complete, remote, Cloud-based version of RenderX XEP. You can send XML+XSL or XSL-FO to a high performance, multi-threaded version of RenderX using our EnMasse product in order to get back formatted PDF. No local installation of RenderX rendering software is required. The small client-side API performs XSLT if needed, reads the resulting FO, embeds all referenced images, and then streams that FO to our Cloud for formatting. The results are returned to you in a stream for you to do as you wish - write to disk, display in a browser, etc. |

Specifications |
||||
We are still developing the complete Cloudformatter solution and welcome those who wish to try it out now to do so. Currently, we have implemented an API in .NET/C# which can communicate with our CloudFormatter through SOAP. We'll be adding Java and JavaScript interfaces in the near future and launching another CloudFormatter with REST-based interfaces. Since the remote engine is where all formatting takes place, we have to limit a set of fonts. Of course, we can add to those fonts as needed on request from users and currently the solution supports the normal Adobe set (Helvetica, Times, Courier, Symbol, ZapfDingbats) as well as the most common Truetype fonts (Arial, Times New Roman, Verdana, Calibri, etc.). |
