RenderX provides a collection of test suites, demonstrations and examples of using the technology to help in evaluations and assist in development. |
The RenderX sales team created several cool tools to stimulate thought and exchange new ideas about things that can be accomplished with XSL-FO and RenderX XEP. |
Implementing Section 508 in XSL FO using RenderX XEP Software |
This document serves as a Technical White Paper showcasing the enhanced capabilities of RenderX XEP software for creating Section 508 compliant PDF documents. The attached document itself was created using RenderX's software and it alone demonstrates much of the capabilities of Section 508 compliance of RenderX's software. |

Business Graphics |
Support for both XSL FO (XSLFO) and SVG makes XEP Engine a powerful tool for data representation. These examples show how sample data in XML can be dynamically transformed into various business graphics representations like pie charts and bar charts. The XSLT stylesheet behind the demonstration used to generate the various styles of business charts is freely available for download. |
Chess Viewer |
The power of XSL lies in its ability to perform radical transformations of the XML data source. This page contains yet another proof for this fact: you can build a chess game viewer with a stylesheet! |
Hewlett-Packard "Design & Print" |
Hewlett-Packard (HP), the worldwide leader in technology, computing and print devices, selected RenderX software to provide customers a creative way to design and print customized stationery for both home and business applications. This live solution employs a rich Macromedia Flash functionality, coupled with the powerful XML to PDF capability of XEP Engine. The solution allows consumers to interactively design and print business cards, stationery, greeting cards, CD covers, calendars and t-shirts in just a few simple steps. Take it for a spin and have some fun, it is a powerful demonstration of what can be accomplished with RenderX software. |
DocBook Formatting Service |
Give XEP a test drive with your own DocBook document. Just upload and submit and let our EnMasse high performance rendering server with XEP software do the rest. |
Dynamic Barcode Generator |
These pages include a library of SVG barcode generators developed by the RenderX technical team, including a live demonstration of servlet connector from the Connectivity Kit. These generators are tested to work with the XEP Engine. Barcodes are simple to represent but difficult to generate. These examples use XSLT to implement the computational part and SVG to draw the image. The complete set is freely available to use in your applications. |

Generating a Filled W-9 Form |
This demonstration shows the power of using XEP Engine with the Integration & Connectivity Kit to create an application to dynamically serve filled forms from user input, all through a web browser. |
Hammer Art |
This is an example of how XSL Formatting Objects can be used to prepare a relatively complex document. The goal of this demonstration is to show that it is already possible to use XSL and XSL FO (XSLFO) in a production environment. |
How It Works: XML in Action |
This site was created with the intention of providing an adequate native formatting for every output media that may be used to view it -- from cellular phones to high-quality printers -- without manually recreating several versions of the same content. Today, the XML set of standards provides a powerful means to achieve this goal. |
Sample Books |
Zenteq.AM uses RenderX XEP Engine with EnMasse to generate books in DocBook or TEI on computer science, information technology, and other subjects. Follow this link to view some selected samples and also examine some fine-tuned stylesheets with carefully selected fonts and layout options for these materials. |
Exari Systems "Exari Document Assembly" Legal Document Assembly Application |
This live demonstration site is powered by Exari Document Assembly, an enterprise document assembly system developed by Exari Systems. It is an example of fast, easy, web-based document assembly for sample legal documents. Users can select a template document type, step through a web interview and then select format for delivery. Exari Document Assembly uses XEP Engine to generate the PDF from a collection of XML content based on your answers and e-mails the PDF. |
Using ACORD standards for Dynamic Forms |
Like the W-9 demonstration, this powerful example uses XEP Engine with the Integration & Connectivity Kit as an example of how agents or even consumers can generate complex XML data in ACORD standard format for downstream processing and also use that same XML data with XSL to format high-quality print output. |
W3C Specifications |
RenderX put together a style sheet for W3C authors to use for high quality PDF output based on the the W3C XML Specification DTD. These pages contain the style sheet as well as PDFs of representative specifications. |
XSL FO Test Suite |
Tests in this set show the use of various XSL FO (XSLFO) objects and properties. These tests may be useful for understanding basics of XSL FO (XSLFO) and assessing XSL FO (XSLFO) formatter conformance. |
XSL FO Tips and Tricks |
We created these tests to help people understand XSL FO (XSLFO) features. They also demonstrate how XSL FO (XSLFO) can be applied to common real-world scenarios, and how special effects (dropcaps, marginalia, scaled images, indices) can be achieved. |
