Publishing Conference Proceedings:

RenderX has developed a solution enabling automatic generation of conference proceedings from one XML source into PDF, PostScript, HTML, and SVG. An example is an implementation on the XML 2005 Conference Web site. Authors submit XML-based content (or content that can be easily transformed into XML) of their works, and the RenderX XEP formatting engine is used for generating output for different media types (screen, print, etc.), formats (HTML, XSL-FO, PDF, PostScript, SVG, etc.), or media sizes (Letter, A4, Legal, etc.) by simply changing the XSLT stylesheets. The entire process is automated, including the production of tables of contents, other reference tables, indexes, bibliographies, etc. This solution represents an excellent demonstration of RenderX’s software that leverages the power of XML format — the data is independent of the presentation, which enables reusability of the content. The same solution can be applied for publishing of books, magazines, etc. Using this solution, IDEAlliance and RenderX have published the final proceedings of the XML 2005 Conference. A copy is available from RenderX Web site. |
